Job Overview

This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving forward the strategic planning, delivery, and evaluation of high‑impact wellbeing and sexual health education and outreach initiatives across Essex and Suffolk. The post holder will lead a multidisciplinary team in promoting both wellbeing and sexual health, reducing health inequalities, and increasing access to services for all communities, especially those at greatest risk.

The Head of Wellbeing and Sexual Health Education and Outreach will ensure that evidence‑based educational frameworks and outreach strategies are embedded across services, while collaborating with partners in public health, education, and the voluntary sector. With strong public health, health inequalities insight and leadership skills, the post holder will also contribute to innovative service development, staff training, and stakeholder engagement.

Person specification

Qualifications

* Masters level qualification or evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge – refers to knowledge and expertise which can only be acquired through a combination or in‑depth experience and study.
* STI training & experience

Desirable criteria

* Management/leadership development programme or qualification


Experience

Essential criteria

* Recent work within wellbeing and sexual health service
* Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in motivating and supervising teams.
* Strong understanding of sexual health issues, including STI prevention and treatment, contraception, and reproductive health
* Knowledge of community outreach methodologies and strategies.

Desirable criteria

* Experience of mobilisation of new services, contracts or projects
