RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Town Planner to join our Planning Team, based in Birmingham or Manchester (hybrid work arrangement).
This key role within our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team involves collaborating with our Environment Division to deliver a range of planning applications, including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, retail, logistics, and major infrastructure projects. The role also involves promoting strategic sites through the Local Plan process.

What You Will Be Doing
* Supporting strategic planning and application work in residential, industrial, and renewable sectors.
* Assisting in preparing and managing strategic applications.
* Developing representations for Local Plan consultations.
* Creating planning strategies to promote land development for successful client outcomes.
* Supporting Planning Directors in delivering their caseload, including preparing Planning Statements.
* Enhancing your communication skills.
* Contributing to business development initiatives and building your profile.
* Supporting junior team members and engaging in our Prospects Planning Group.
Who We Are Looking For
* A qualified RTPI chartered town planner or working towards it, with experience in consultancy or local government.
* A passion for planning, development, and environmental issues.
* Good knowledge of planning policy.
* Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
* Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills.
* Market awareness and understanding of local planning issues.
* Experience in the Midlands or North West is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's/Master's/Doctoral degree in Town Planning.
* Chartered Planner or near attainment of Chartership.
