About the OrganisationWe are working exclusively with Keniston Housing Association, a well-respected,munity-focused housing providermitted to delivering high-quality homes and excellent service to its residents.As a smaller organisation, Keniston offers a hands-on, collaborative environment where individuals can make a visible impact and take real ownership of their work.The RoleKeniston is seeking a Technical Officer to support the delivery of responsive repairs, voids, and planned maintenance across its housing stock.This is a varied, site-focused role where you’ll act as the key technical point of contact, ensuring works are delivered to a high standard, on time, and with excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out pre- and post-inspections of repair works, identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
2. Diagnose building issues and specify appropriate remedial works
3. Oversee void properties, including inspections, scoping works, and monitoring progress topletion
4. Act as Clerk of Works on larger void projects and planned programmes such as redecorations andponent replacements
5. Manage contractors on site, ensuring delivery against time, cost, and quality expectations
6. Provide technical advice to internal teams and support decision-making on repair issues
7. Identify major defects or insurance-related issues and support claims processes
8. Maintain accurate records and reporting using digital systems
About You
9. Strong practical knowledge of building construction, repairs, and defect diagnosis
10. Experience in a Technical Officer, Repairs Inspector, Clerk of Works, or similar role
11. Background in housing, property maintenance, or construction
12. Confident managing contractors and overseeing work on site.
13. Excellentmunication skills with a focus on customer service and resident satisfaction
14. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
15. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required
