The PwC Actuarial practice comprises over 300 partners and staff with offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Mumbai. Our consultants focus on non-life, life, banking and non-insurance, led by a fifteen-strong partner team. We play a leading role in the 1000+ strong actuarial community in PwC worldwide and often work with specialists from other disciplines within PwC.
Our practice is market leading in the General Insurance space, offering access to solve major challenges for a wide range of clients, from global reinsurers to niche players across Lloyd’s & London Market, UK & European Personal & Commercial, and Reinsurance markets.
Responsibilities
What Your Days Will Look Like:
* As a Senior Manager, you will work as part of a team solving complex business issues from strategy to execution. You’ll participate in strategic management of the practice and lead on core product areas. You’ll also have opportunities to be the lead actuarial account driver on UK general insurance clients. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll lead, manage and deliver a wide range of concurrent actuarial and multidisciplinary assignments and act as the client’s main day-to-day contact.

Qualifications and Profile
* You will have spent most of your career to date in the general insurance market, either within a company, consultancy or regulatory environment.
* Strong ability to lead and collaborate within a diverse and inclusive team.
* Agile, clear-thinking and commercially astute.
* Enjoy challenges and complexity and navigate them with compassion and empathy.
* Ability to communicate complex, technical issues to senior management simply and incisively.
* Self-motivated, responsible and passionate about developing potential and supporting others’ development.
* Strong non-life network or presence in actuarial industry, or willingness to pursue opportunities (e.g., working parties, industry forums and events).
* Statement of Actuarial Opinion (SAO) and Lloyd’s experience would be beneficial.
* Good understanding of capital modelling and risk management techniques, with broader commercial awareness of key market issues. Experience across related areas (Catastrophe Risk; Reserving & Pricing; Exposure Management; Deals; IFRS17; Audit) is preferred, with interest in new areas (e.g., Cyber, Climate, ESG).
