We are looking for a care-driven RVN with a passion for wards nursing to join our team at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists on a full-time basis. Our team provides advanced wards-based nursing care to a variety of cases, including medical, surgical, and high dependency patients.
Your role will include communicating with the clinical team and discipline-specific specialists to ensure high-quality care, recovering patients from anaesthesia, and nursing our inpatients. You will be encouraged to build on your existing knowledge and skills. This role is suitable for a confident nurse with the ability to utilise initiative while working alongside a dedicated team of interns, nurses, and VCAs.

As a large multidisciplinary referral hospital, we offer impressive facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, enabling us to provide outstanding treatment from initial consultation to discharge. We are conveniently based in Ringwood, Hampshire, just off the A31.
Our recent expansion includes a new purpose-built theatre complex, a two-storey facility with a large client reception and waiting area, 10 new consulting rooms, and a new rehabilitation centre. Further additions include a diagnostic suite and ICU area, among others.
We have an outstanding team of recognised specialists across multiple disciplines, including a dedicated rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to aid post-operative recovery. Our advanced nursing team ensures excellent patient care during their stay, supported by a team of veterinary care assistants who ensure patients feel reassured and comfortable.
Qualities we seek
We are looking for a dynamic individual with high attention to detail and an empathetic approach to patient care. You should possess the confidence to take initiative and actively contribute to patient care. Previous experience in a referral practice is beneficial.
Working pattern
This is a full-time permanent role, equating to 39 hours per week. The schedule includes 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday) from 7 am to 7:30 pm, and 1 in 5 weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 7 am to 7:30 pm. Flexibility with workdays can be considered if required.
