Overview
AtkinsRéalis seeks Urban Drainage Modellers across UK offices to support our Water business. Our teams work flexibly and all UK offices listed under this vacancy are possible home offices. You will join a team of engineers, modellers, geographers, GIS specialists and technicians and play a key role in delivering to a range of Clients including Water Companies, Local Authorities, developers with potential involvement in international projects. Our Networks & Drainage Solutions (N&DS) team focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure, drainage design, SuDS and surface water management.
Responsibilities
* Development of computer models to investigate water network issues and investment needs and generation of outline solutions.
* Analysis of data.
* Support development of engineering solutions and advising to our clients to help them make better asset investment decisions.
* Support development of reports and other project deliverables.
* Prepare (and adhere to) health and safety risk assessments.
* Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates at higher grades.
* Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development at higher grades.
* Contributing towards technical innovation.
* Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
* Experience in Wastewater modelling and distribution networks.
* Building and calibrating network models.
* Using network models for planning, operational and solution development purposes.
* Experience with InfoWorks ICM (or CS) and other modelling software.
* For more senior roles, varying levels of experience in model build and verification, hydraulic and water quality analysis, catchment planning, Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning (DWMP), solution development and technical leadership to match the position, including:
o Expertise using InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
o Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects.
o Ability to check the work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client.
o Implementation of industry leading solutions and development of innovative solutions.
o Management and technical supervision of a team of waste water modellers.
o Supervision of report writing and check and review of outputs.
Qualifications
* Desirable Qualifications:
o BSc/BEng/MEng degree level: geography, GIS, science, engineering related subject or equivalent considered with appropriate professional qualifications at senior levels.
o Technician roles require HNC, HND level qualification in similar subjects. Opportunities to work towards qualifications will be available for the successful candidates.
