Nursing Assistant

We are looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals, who can cope with a high-pressured clinical environment. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required to work in the Emergency Department at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. People with a passion for wanting to learn how to provide the highest standards of Emergency Care are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must demonstrate a compassionate and caring attitude towards their patients and be able to deliver high standard of care. Candidates must possess good communication and organisational skills.
You must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the service needs of our patients which includes rotation between days and nights.

Main duties of the job
* To work under the supervision of a qualified nurse and assist in the implementation of patient care both direct and non-direct
* To provide and promote high quality care under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties in hospital.
* Record patient observations and changes to patient clinical conditions

Job responsibilities
* To assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care.
* To provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.
* To maintain high clinical standards.
* To help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
Person Specification
Experience
* Previous care experience in a health or social care setting
* Evidence of completed competencies aligned to the service area
* Customer Care course
Qualifications / Professional Registration
* Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation
* Completion of a competency-based programme or equivalent relevant experience
* Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject or a portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience
