The role
As a Defence Trainer, you’ll deliver specialist training and instruction in Driving and Maintenance (D&M) on armoured vehicles, ensuring students are equipped with the skills and confidence to operate and maintain critical defence assets. This is a role where your expertise will directly contribute to operational readiness and national security, while offering you the chance to develop your teaching skills and progress your career in a dynamic environment.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
1. Train and instruct students on current and future armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) and associated training media and equipment
2. Deliver courses covering driving, maintenance, and command of AFVs, ensuring students reach test standard.
3. Maintain Student Admin Booklets (SAB) and submit course statistics, reports, and returns as required.
4. Liaise with the Authority and Group Management on course content and updates.
5. Report faults on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Fixtures and Fittings (GFF) used during training.
This role is a zero hours contract and is based on site at Bovington.
Essential experience of the Defence Trainer:
6. Ex-military instructor experience with proven teaching background.
7. IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
8. Good written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications for the Defence Trainer:
9. Must hold an Instructor Qualification from ARMCEN at either Schools Instructor (SI) Level or Regimental Instructor (RI) with a ‘recommend to serve’ at ARMCEN.
10. Trained on AFV vehicles – H licence tracked
