Senior Manager (Visual Inspection and Leak Testing Technologies)
At GSK we are looking to recruit a capable technical subject‑matter expert who is knowledgeable and experienced in visual inspection (both manual and automatic) and leak testing technologies. This role sits within the Global Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) organization and reports to the Director of Visual Inspection & Leak Testing.
Location & Travel
Ideally you will be based at one of the following sites: Barnard Castle, UK; Upper Merion, Pennsylvania, USA; Ware, UK; or GSK HQ, London. Travel between Barnard Castle and Upper Merion will be required, with an estimated maximum of 20% of time.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish, document, and maintain best practices for visual inspection and leak detection processes across GSK sites and contract manufacturers.
* Act as a visual inspection SME and provide technical support for process transfer to CMOs, supporting tech transfer and qualification batch execution.
* Provide expert technical guidance and support to CMO inspection teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Design and conduct training programs for inspection personnel, enhancing their skills in visual inspection and leak detection techniques.
* Oversee and ensure the quality and accuracy of inspection reports and findings, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance inspection efficiency and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to address inspection‑related issues and develop integrated solutions.
* Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
* Ensure all inspection activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
About You
You will possess strong practical knowledge and expertise in visual inspection and leak detection, with a proven track record of ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You are a self‑starter with a clear problem‑solving approach, strong people skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders. A continuous improvement mindset and hands‑on operational experience are essential.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or scientific subject, or strong relevant technical experience in visual inspection.
* Experience and knowledge of visual inspection (manual and automatic).
* Understanding of governance and compliance, ideally from a highly regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge or experience of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
