Royal Mail P&FS are now recruiting for a Mobile Electrical and Maintenance Engineer covering the BN and TN postcode areas

Salary: £37,570.35 per annum, plus standby allowance of c£290 per week when on rota, and appropriate overtime rate when attending calls. 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years’ service, plus bank holidays.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time. Typical hours are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required.
The successful applicant will join an out-of-hours callout rota, 1 in 4 weeks, covering a wider area.
Role Overview
We are seeking an electrically biased Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance Team.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining electrical systems across various commercial sites.
2. Fault finding and providing advice on equipment such as roller shutter doors and dock levellers.
3. Basic plumbing tasks including drainage, unblocking urinals and toilets, replacing taps, sinks, cisterns, and heating elements.
4. Applying technical knowledge to complete work efficiently, balancing quality, cost, and time objectives.
5. Providing technical guidance to staff and customers to resolve issues.
6. Managing corrective and planned maintenance to meet contractual performance measures.
7. Communicating with customer representatives to ensure requirements are met.
8. Completing all necessary paperwork accurately.
9. Making informed judgments to meet cost, quality, and contractual goals.
10. Promoting safety standards and setting a good example.
11. Managing customer relationships and projecting a professional image of Royal Mail P&FS.
Candidate Requirements
* Electrical certification such as the 18th Edition.
* City and Guilds 2382 & 2391 testing and inspection certification.
* Experience in planned maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
* Fault diagnosis skills and the ability to advise others.
* Effective communication skills, especially explaining technical issues.
* Ability to analyze complex electrical problems.
* Preferably IPAF and MEWP trained and qualified, comfortable working at heights.
* Experience dealing with customers in a commercial environment.
* Valid UK driving license with no endorsements preferred.
* Computer literacy is advantageous.
