Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. This role requires proficiency in using hand and power tools, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to ensure that work is completed to a high standard. The Carpenter will be responsible for joinery, masonry, painting and other tasks on residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
* Fabricate and assemble stud work, roof trusses, doors, windows, kitchens and bathrooms.
* Perform joinery tasks with precision to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
* Use power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
* Carry out painting duties to enhance the appearance of finished products.
* Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
* Assist in heavy lifting and moving of materials as needed on site.
* Assist other trades onsite to progress jobs as necessary.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Experience / Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Carpenter or a recognised qualification is preferred.
* Familiarity with various carpentry techniques and materials.
* Ability to read plans and technical drawings accurately.
* Experience with heavy lifting and physical stamina for demanding tasks.
* Knowledge of safety practices related to construction sites is essential.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
* Some knowledge of other trades and tasks would be beneficial.
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required for national coverage.
