A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor based in Manchester, delivering high-quality groundworks, reinforced concrete (RC) frame, and infrastructure packages across the North West and beyond.
The business operates across commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors, with a strong reputation for safety, reliability, and technical expertise. With a healthy pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Estimator.
The Role
As Estimator - Groundworks & RC Frame, you will be responsible for:
* Preparing accurate and competitive tenders for groundwork and RC frame packages
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
* Undertaking take-offs and producing detailed cost plans
* Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Identifying value engineering opportunities and risk factors
* Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process
* Supporting pre-construction and handover to delivery teams
* Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Estimator - Groundworks & RC Frame will have:
* Proven experience estimating groundworks and reinforced concrete frame projects
* A strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and buildability
* Experience working on residential, commercial, or infrastructure schemes
* Excellent commercial awareness and cost analysis skills
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office packages
* A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work to tight deadlines
