SENCO – Part-Time, Short-Term Position
Location: Borehamwood
Start Date: November 2025 (until end of December 2025)
Schedule: 2 days per week
We are working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Borehamwood, known for its supportive culture, child-centred ethos, and commitment to inclusive education. They are seeking a passionate and experienced SENCO to join their team on a part-time, short-term basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled SEN professional looking for flexible working days in a rewarding and well-supported school setting.
Role Overview
As SENCO, you will play a key role in leading the school’s SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support for pupils with additional needs and working closely with staff, families, and external agencies to promote inclusive learning.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate SEND provision across the school
Support staff in identifying and planning for pupils with additional needs
Maintain and update SEND records, including EHCPs and provision maps
Liaise with external professionals such as Educational Psychologists and Speech Therapists
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
Provide guidance and CPD to teaching and support staff
Monitor progress and outcomes for SEND pupils and report to SLT
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Requirements:
National Award for SEN Coordination (or substantial SEN experience)
Previous experience working as a SENCO or in a similar leadership role
Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
Strong communication and organisational skills
A nurturing, proactive, and collaborative approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
