Our Towpath Taskforce group meets every month at various locations along the River Weaver, often at the lockside and sometimes along the towpath. We usually meet from 10am to 2:30pm on the first Thursday of each month. We tackle litter, cut back overgrown vegetation, paint locks, mend towpaths, repair fencing, and perform many other related tasks. All tools and equipment are provided, as well as tea and coffee—just bring some lunch.
Exact locations and meeting points are sent in advance of each session once you sign up below, and this webpage is updated accordingly.
The next session is on Thursday, 6th March—an email invitation with the details of joining us at Saltersford Lock has been sent to you.
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great opportunity to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities, or simply spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No formal skills are required, and you will have the chance to volunteer across many unique and beautiful environments.
Sign up, join us, and meet the team for a rewarding volunteer experience.
