9 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover – start date in July 2025)
Full-time: 37 hours per week (minimum 1 day per week in the office)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager for a nine‐month maternity cover who is ready to hit the ground running. In this role, you will support the Head of Commercial Development by leading key initiatives within our Commercial Strategy and Programme, driving income generation, and implementing best practice across the Council.
Key Responsibilities:
* Garage Project Repurposing: Lead initiatives focused on repurposing underperforming garage assets. You’ll develop robust business cases that detail cost-benefit analyses and projected returns on investment, ensuring our Council’s financial sustainability.
* Commercial Income Review: Drive the comprehensive review of our commercial revenue streams. This includes identifying new income generation opportunities, conducting thorough analyses of costs and income trends, and supporting the achievement of both financial and commercial targets.
* Deliver additional critical projects such as supporting the delivery of the Commercial Strategy and overseeing the Commercial Board’s functions, ensuring alignment with our wider commercial objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
* Commercial Expertise: Demonstrable experience in commercial management, with a proven track record in income generation and driving efficiency savings.
* Strategic & Analytical Skills: Ability to develop business cases, perform in-depth analyses, and craft strategic initiatives that support long-term financial goals.
* Property Insight (Desirable): Experience within property management or related sectors would be beneficial, though not essential.
* Collaborative & Adaptable: A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, maintaining a balance between formal project management rigour and a flexible, engaging working style.
