Legal Assistant (Private Client) Blandford Salary dependent on experience Our well-established client is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their busy Private Client department based at their Blandford office. The successful applicant will have good experience of working in a busy administrative office and the desire to develop their career within the legal profession. The Firm will provide the training required to perform effectively in the administrative role and further training sponsorship for the right applicant. Overall purpose: To learn the skills necessary to provide efficient clerical and administrative support to a designated lawyer or lawyers in the Private Client department. Main Duties: · To undertake clerical and administrative duties for a particular lawyer or lawyers · To assist with photocopying and scanning · To assist with opening and closing of files · To produce typing in a timely, accurate and efficient manner · To manage billing procedures for particular lawyers · To be fully conversant and proficient with the firm’s IT and database systems and to be confident and accurate in their correct usage · To make sure client details are kept up to date on DPS · To understand the importance of conflict searches, the money laundering process and comply with the LLP’s procedures · To time record on behalf of a lawyer or lawyers for any compliance tasks which are chargeable · To progress standard queries and correspondence to clients on behalf of a lawyer or lawyers and communicate clearly and professionally with clients over the phone · To keep relevant parties informed of the progress of your tasks · To monitor the digital dictation queue and offer assistance wherever possible · To draft relevant documents, as instructed. Personal: · To keep confidential all client information and have a high level of knowledge of the LLP’s data protection policy and apply this during working day. · To be positive and helpful with colleagues, clients and professional contacts of the firm. · To establish good working relationships with colleagues and assist all departments and colleagues within the firm as requested. · To adhere to and familiarise themselves with the firm’s values and policy. · To provide a high level of personal and professional service at all times adopting a ‘can do, will do’ attitude and promoting a positive working environment. Other Duties · To include other reasonable duties and tasks which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work
