The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established independent accountancy practice with a loyal and growing client base. The firm is looking to strengthen its Accounts team with the appointment of a Semi Senior Accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to continue developing their technical skills within a supportive environment. You'll join a friendly, collaborative team and gain exposure to a broad range of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders. The Role Responsibilities will include: Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders Preparing corporation tax computations and returns Preparing self-assessment tax returns Preparing and reviewing VAT returns Producing quarterly management accounts Supporting clients with cloud accounting software Building strong client relationships through regular communication Reviewing work prepared by junior team members Mentoring and supporting developing staff Identifying potential tax planning opportunities and escalating where appropriate This is a varied role offering exposure across accounts, tax, cloud accounting and client advisory work. The Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have: AAT Level 4 qualified Around 4 years' experience within UK accountancy practice Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation Experience using QuickBooks or similar cloud accounting software Strong communication and client-facing skills Experience supporting or reviewing junior team members Excellent organisation and time management skills A positive, proactive and team-focused approach What's On Offer £34,000 - £38,000 basic salary Flexible start and finish times 37.5-hour working week 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Discretionary annual bonus Company sick pay Flexible working arrangements Potential for hybrid working Supportive and collaborative team environment Long-term progression opportunities
