Job Description
On behalf of our client near Knaresborough, we are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to join a Waste Treatment Plant on a full-time basis, initially for 3 months.
You will support the Mechanical Maintenance Team and Lead Engineer, carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, fabrication work, and assisting with planned outages while maintaining high health, safety, and quality standards.
Shift Pattern
* Week 1: MonFri, 8am4pm
* Week 2: MonFri, 10pm6am
Key Duties
* Maintain and repair conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and cranes
* Carry out fabrication and workshop duties
* Complete PPM and reactive maintenance
* Use CMMS systems and support maintenance KPIs
* Follow all H&S, quality, and environmental procedures
Requirements
* Time-served Mechanical Fitter
* Mechanical Apprenticeship
* NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Maintenance Engineering or equivalent
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and mechanical drawings
* Strong understanding of safe systems of work
* IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
