Overview
Engineering Team Leader to lead the shift team of Site Engineers in optimizing engineering performance and delivering exceptional operational support. This includes reducing breakdowns, executing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and driving continuous process improvements. The role ensures compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and safety legislation to meet production and maintenance objectives.

Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Direct Reports: Shift Engineers
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise shift-based engineering operations, ensuring timely maintenance and installation activities.
* Drive the use of Marel PMS service kits for scheduled maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with GMP, health & safety, and environmental standards.
* Collaborate with departments such as Food Safety, Quality, Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
* Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives and environmental improvements.
* Ensure timely completion of insurance risk assessments and audits.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Multi-skilled engineer with both electrical and mechanical expertise.
* Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of processing equipment and engineering standards.
* Knowledge of GMP, health & safety, and environmental impact.
* Proven leadership and team motivation skills.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
* Flexible and pragmatic approach to shift work.
Desirable
* Experience in food manufacturing, particularly chilled/frozen or short shelf-life products.
* Familiarity with PLC-controlled environments.
* Understanding of food technology and food safety principles.
* Hands-on leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement.
