Coherent Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual for the position of Production Planner. Reporting to the Planning Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating an achievable production plan that recognises available manufacturing capacity and also meets specific S&OP quarterly requirements for both new and service repair events. Whilst at the same time managing inventory to achieve maximum turns through JIT initiatives. Working closely with the wider Materials team, Production, Product Line Managers, as well as external partners, the Production Planner is responsible for setting and meeting committed sales order request dates to customers from scheduling through to order picking in an environment of changing priorities, continuous product development and new product implementation. Duties and Responsibilities Attending morning production meetings to monitor Capacity Plan progress and identify any risks to meeting SO commit dates. Creating & maintaining capacity plan in line with forecast based on receipt of S&OP; managing both low and high volumes with a variety of product mix. Creating and completing of WIP Jobs, capturing serialised items and building genealogy across multi-level bills of material. Maintaining and presenting key KPIs based around delivery to customer promise and request dates. Meet with Product Line Managers to identify if any rescheduling is required in line with business priorities. Highlighting and actioning any shortages / potential shortages as and when they occur. Coordinating receipt of defective lasers & plan rework in production. Education and Experience: Degree/HND level or equivalent is desirable. Demonstrative track record in MRP planning / forecasting / scheduling. Good understanding of production resource and supply chain planning. Experience of Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodology. Experience of planning though Oracle 11i/12 would be an advantage. Intermediate or higher level MS Office (Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint) knowledge. Undertaken aviation security training would be an advantage. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure in multiple tasks and manage priorities. Ability to work as a pivotal member of a team. Good analytical and problem solving skills. This is not intended to be all-encompassing.
