We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate Teacher of Computing to join our well‑established and successful department. This is a temporary position for up to one year to cover a period of maternity leave. The role is full‑time in the first instance; however, applications from candidates seeking a 0.8 FTE teaching commitment are warmly welcomed. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an ECT eager to begin their career in a supportive and dedicated department. Our ECTs follow the DfE Early Career Framework and benefit from both a subject mentor and an Induction Tutor.
We are looking for a teacher who can inspire our students and promote a lifelong passion for Computing. You will have a genuine enthusiasm for working with young people and will take great satisfaction in helping them grow, develop new skills and achieve their best.
About the Computing Department
The Computing Department is well-established, innovative and committed to ensuring students of all abilities enjoy the subject while being stretched and challenged. We deliver a broad and engaging Key Stage 3 curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum and prepares students for both Computer Science and IT at Key Stages 4 and 5.
* At Key Stage 3, students are introduced to block‑based and high‑level programming languages, Excel spreadsheets, E‑Safety, Cryptography, Algorithms, HTML, Vector Drawing and Data Representation.
* At Key Stage 4, students can study OCR GCSE Computer Science (J277) and/or BTEC Tech Awards Digital Information Technology.
* At Key Stage 5, students can study OCR A‑Level Computer Science (H446) and/or OCR Cambridge Advanced National in Cyber Security Extended Certificate (H137).
