Finance Assistant
Secondary School - Newham
We are seeking a reliable and well-organised Finance Assistant to join the administrative team of our busy and inclusive secondary school in Newham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial administration skills who enjoys working in an educational environment and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a school.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the school's finance function, including processing invoices, orders, and payments
Maintaining accurate financial records and spreadsheets
Assisting with budget monitoring and reconciliation
Handling income, including trips, meals, and other school activities
Liaising with staff, suppliers, and external finance providers
Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with school financial procedures
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Experience in a finance or administrative role (school experience desirable but not essential)
Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
Confidence using financial systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong organisational and communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
