GLL is looking for a Community Sport Manager to work across the leisure and sport facilities in Richmond upon Thames. If you have the skills and ambition to join us in this role, there has never been a more exciting time to become part of our team.
The primary role of a Community Sport Manager is to enable our communities to increase their participation in sport and leisure activities, reducing inequalities and improving both physical health and mental well-being.
This is a unique and exciting role, responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive Active Communities Annual Plan for our leisure facilities as well as community settings across Richmond upon Thames, guided by the following principles:

3. Access: GLL ensures any barriers to activity in our venues and services are removed.
4. Empowering Communities: GLL connects and empowers communities to improve their physical, social, and mental well-being.
The post-holder will work with partners, communities, and leisure centre teams to establish pathways of opportunity for individuals and communities to achieve their potential, using physical activity and sport to tackle cross-cutting issues such as health improvement and community development. The role also ensures that leisure centres provide:
5. Policies and systems that support customers’ and colleagues’ health and well-being while ensuring equality.
6. A choice of products tailored to meet the needs of all audience types.
7. Accessible products and services available at the right time, place, and price.
8. Opportunities for stakeholders and communities to co-design, deliver, and promote services.
9. Engagement with audiences and stakeholders, reinforcing GLL’s position as the leading charitable social enterprise in the leisure sector.
10. Investment in our people, local communities, and volunteers to meet local needs.
You will interact with a diverse range of people, including schoolchildren, the elderly, and individuals from various religious and ethnic groups. Excellent communication skills are essential to relate effectively to all types of people. Ideally, candidates will hold a degree and have experience in planning and leading community, health, or sport-based activities and programmes.
While working as part of a wider team, you will be expected to manage your own workload and work independently.
