What you will be doing We take a conservation-based and sustainable approach to maintaining our sites and conserving our heritage estate; maintenance work and repairs are performed by our own in-house specialists, and we are excited to offer this opportunity for an experienced Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson join our team carrying out structural maintenance of the war graves and memorials in our care in the North region, Manchester Team. Pesticide Certificates (PA1 and PA6) and NAMM (National Association of Memorial Masons) membership are required for this role, and the Commission is willing to provide you with the necessary support and training to gain these qualifications if you do not already have them. Travel: This is a mobile role with lots of travel. Initially you will work with a teammate until fully trained after which most of the time you will be working alone. You will have use of a van for work purposes. Ideally, we would like you to be comfortable and experienced driving a vehicle up to 3.5 tons, however, training will be provided. The role is practical, hands-on and requires a good level of physical fitness. There will be occasions where you will be required to stay overnight, depending on where in the region you are working and costs will be covered.
