We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to facilitate our walks to promote emotional understanding and wellbeing through nature experiences whilst strengthening family bonds. This role involves facilitating family-oriented activities focused on promoting mental wellbeing. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of three years of experience working with children and families in relevant fields such as education, social services, counselling, or related disciplines. The ideal volunteer will demonstrate a strong background in nurturing positive mental health outcomes within family environments. Key qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional experience with children and families Background in teaching, social care, counselling, or analogous fields Demonstrated ability to guide and support families in wellbeing initiatives This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on family mental health within our community *This role is subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Candidates must either hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check. What will you be doing? Wellbeing Walk Facilitators will help to lead groups of families on guided nature walks through local green spaces. Primary duties will include Facilitating wellbeing activities Encouraging family interaction, sharing, and bonding moments Providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for emotional expression Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and managing group dynamics Wellbeing Walk Facilitators will work closely with the Programme Coordinator, who will attend initial walks with volunteers, provide training, resources, and ongoing support. You will also collaborate with other volunteers to ensure a seamless and impactful experience for families. We welcome volunteers to bring their unique skills, perspectives, and ideas to enhance the wellbeing walk experience. Although we have planned activities, new ideas and the incorporation of additional activities, exercises, or approaches are encouraged! This is an in person role which is currently available in both Brighton & Hove.
