Role
Natural Resources Wales is seeking a reliable and organised Facilities Officer to support the effective, safe, and customer‑focused operation of our buildings across the Meirionydd area. This operational role involves providing day‑to‑day support to the Facilities Operational Team and contributing to the safe, compliant, and efficient management of NRW workplaces. You will handle a range of administrative and organisational tasks, including managing documentation such as emails, invoices, and schedules, and gathering and relaying information from various sources. You will be trusted to handle documentation, process payments for goods and services, and manage NRW equipment and information responsibly. You will also support active monitoring activities and ensure the safe use of NRW equipment and information.
Driving is an essential and integral part of this role. You will be contracted to the Dolgellau NRW office at Coed y Mynydd and be required to travel regularly to sites within your allocated hub, often using an NRW electric vehicle. For this reason, you must hold a full and current UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
* Support the operational Facilities team in delivering key facilities management services for NRW.
* Provide excellent customer service and foster a culture of continuous improvement in frontline facilities management services for NRW’s customers.
* Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.
* Support incident response activities.
* Other reasonable duties requested commensurate with the grade of this role.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
* Good knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act.
* Associate of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) or willingness to work towards the qualification.
* Experience delivering a service in a facilities management environment, performing process and procedure tasks, assisting in the management of contracts and contractors, and supporting frontline Facilities Operational teams.
* Experience delivering facilities‑management related services within a shared service centre environment, including the use of ICT systems and other software/applications.
* Strong IT and accurate data entry skills.
* Good organisational, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work under pressure using initiative to meet tight deadlines.
* Experience of implementing change or process improvement would be advantageous.
Welsh Language Level Requirements
* Essential: Level A1 – Entry level.
