Detailed job description and main responsibilities The Advanced Clinical Respiratory Physiologist role is designed for an individual with expert knowledge and extensive experience in performing and reporting both routine and complex respiratory and sleep diagnostic investigations. The post holder will also deliver a structured in-house training programme, supporting the development of competencies in respiratory and sleep measurement techniques. As an integral member of the Respiratory Physiology team, the post holder will demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills on a daily basis. They will provide mentorship and guidance to the Respiratory Physiology workforce and offer support to the Deputy and Senior Chief Clinical Respiratory Physiologists. The post holder will play a key role in delivering the cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) service, leading CPET sessions and demonstrating advanced analytical and reporting skills. They will provide line management to Clinical Respiratory Physiologists, offering visible, high-level leadership and ongoing support. The role also includes supporting the Sleep Service, including full polysomnography studies, and holding specialist responsibility for the domiciliary CPAP/NIV service, ensuring its smooth and effective operation.
