Maintenance Manager – Poole (BH1 Facility) Location: Poole Salary: £45000-55000 Per Annum( DOE) Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday About Us At Charles Trent Limited, we’re not a traditional car breaker. We operate one of the UK’s most advanced vehicle recycling facilities, built around a reverse production line that dismantles vehicles at scale, safely and efficiently. Our modern BH1 facility in Poole is at the centre of that operation — processing hundreds of vehicles and thousands of parts every week. We are a data-driven, high-throughput operation focused on quality, efficiency, and doing things properly. That only works if the site, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard. The Role We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to take full ownership of maintenance across our Poole site. This is not a desk job. You’ll be on the ground, fixing issues, preventing breakdowns, and making sure the site runs as it should. If you’re practical, proactive, and take pride in keeping things working properly, this role is straightforward and rewarding. What You’ll Be Responsible For Keeping BH1 Running Maintain uptime across our production facility Respond quickly to breakdowns and faults Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and general issues Preventative Maintenance Build and manage a simple, effective maintenance schedule Carry out routine checks across equipment and infrastructure Prevent issues before they impact operations Site Standards & Repairs Take ownership of the condition of the entire site: Buildings, doors, flooring, lighting, welfare areas Fix damage quickly and properly Maintain a clean, professional environment across BH1 Contractor Management Oversee all external contractors, including but not exhaustive: Fork truck repair maintenance & servicing contracts Solar panel systems Electrical and mechanical support Ensure work is completed to a high standard and delivers value Hold contractors accountable — no repeat issues Compliance & Safety Ensure maintenance activities meet health & safety standards Maintain clear records of servicing and inspections Support audits and ensure nothing is missed Continuous Improvement Identify recurring problems and fix root causes Improve reliability of equipment and site infrastructure Suggest practical improvements that make the operation better What We’re Looking For Hands-on, practical mindset — you fix problems, not report them Experience in maintenance, engineering, or similar environment Good working knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical systems Strong problem-solving ability Confident managing contractors and holding standards Takes pride in doing things properly What You’ll Get £45,000 – £55,000 salary (depending on experience) Opportunity to take full ownership of a key operational role Work in a modern, high-volume production environment Be part of a business that is growing and investing in its future Benefits: Family Day & Community Volunteer Day Health Cash Plan / Critical Illness Cover / Death in Service Training and Career Development 5.87% Pension Contribution Discounted petrol and discount on parts 25 days holiday (excluding bank holidays)
