Location: Longcross, UK (on-site at our colocation facility).
The role
As an IT Technician, you will maintain and optimize the IT infrastructure within our data center. This includes hands-on work with technologies such as the advanced H200 GPU cloud cluster, supporting the data center’s IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Diagnosing and resolving IT hardware issues to support the data center’s IT infrastructure.
* Collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to address technical and operational challenges.
* Installing, upgrading and dismantling hardware based on operational requests and requirements.
* Managing and maintaining connectivity of fiber optic cables and patch cords.
* Planning, executing and monitoring regular IT tasks to maintain and improve IT infrastructure operations.
* Processing Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) in accordance with manuals and procedures.
* Developing clear documentation and manuals for hardware configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Collaborating with stakeholders across teams, including executives, to support projects.
* Leading and managing specific workflows, processes, or projects as assigned.
What we expect you to have
* 3+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving server hardware issues.
* A solid understanding of data center operations and server/network equipment principles.
* Basic proficiency with Linux and command-line tools.
* Experience with server IT hardware, enterprise-grade network switches, and fiber optic cables.
* Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, lists and graph creation.
* Proactive, responsible and goal-oriented approach to work.
Nice-to-have
