Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team within a reputable care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to supervise and support junior staff while ensuring personalised care plans are effectively implemented. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs when required.

Duties

* Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive and professional team environment
* Assist residents with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and medication management in accordance with individual care plans
* Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes or concerns to the management team promptly
* Develop, review, and update personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home
* Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure holistic care delivery
* Organise and participate in staff training sessions to promote continuous professional development
* Use IT systems efficiently for record keeping, documentation, and communication purposes

Requirements

* Proven experience in senior care or supervising within a care home setting
* Must have NVQ 3 or be working towards
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
* Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and colleagues
* Familiarity with creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
* Competent IT skills for documentation and administrative tasks
* Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation duties when necessary
* Knowledge of current health and safety regulations relevant to senior care environments
* Compassionate attitude with a commitment to delivering person-centred care

We are unable to provide sponsorship

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.5 per week
