Job Description
As our Sustainability Data Manager, you will own the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and delivery of sustainability data across ASOS. This high-impact, product-led role empowers the business to make data-driven decisions, meet compliance obligations, and scale sustainability and circularity initiatives. You will lead the vision and roadmap for sustainability data, driving innovation through automation, AI, and modern data platforms. Collaboration across Responsible Sourcing, Tech, and Commercial teams will be key to embedding sustainability into the product lifecycle and influencing strategic outcomes across ESG initiatives, sourcing, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Strategy & Architecture
2. Own ASOS's sustainability data strategy and roadmap, aligning with Fashion with Integrity and legislative requirements.
3. Build and scale foundational data architecture in Microsoft Azure to support reporting, compliance, and decision-making.
4. Automate key reports including the Tonnage Report, Sustainability Dashboard, and Better Cotton compliance.
5. Collaborate with Sourcing and Human Rights teams to identify and scale high-impact use cases for sustainability data, supporting traceability, compliance, and innovation.
1. Tech Development & Innovation
2. Implement a supply chain traceability system ensuring sustainability requirements are met.
3. Partner with Tech and Product teams to integrate sustainability into PLM systems, Bill of Materials, and Digital Product Passports.
4. Champion the Automation Hub for scalable, efficient workflows.
1. Compliance & Reporting
2. Manage government and NGO reporting, ensuring traceability and compliance with evolving ESG legislation.
3. Monitor and report on circular design claims and performance against targets.
4. Influence stakeholders to drive alignment, clarity, and accountability.
Qualifications include proven experience in data strategy or product management within retail or fashion, strong technical understanding of data architecture, automation tools, and ESG reporting frameworks, and experience with Microsoft Azure, Power Automate, PLM systems, Python, SQL, and Power BI. Excellent communication and leadership skills, a passion for sustainability, and the ability to drive strategic transformation are essential.
