The main purpose of the role:
As one of our Bank/Casual Chef Tutors, your role is to plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate inspiring, engaging, and individualized Food Preparation sessions of the highest quality that challenge and stretch every student.
Your role is to help achieve our mission, which is to equip young adults with learning disabilities to find sustainable employment in the hospitality sector and to live independently.
Always promote a professional attitude and approach with students and learner support practitioners, to support students in developing the skills required to be 'work ready, life ready.'
Key duties:
* Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate inspiring, engaging, and individualized sessions of the highest quality that challenge and stretch every student.
* Support students professionally, effectively, and sensitively in their learning.
* Manage student behavior professionally and effectively, seeking further advice and guidance where appropriate.
* Ensure each student makes progress each session, with progress recorded, evidenced, and evaluated effectively and efficiently.
* Deliver professional, inspiring, and engaging sessions that motivate and engage all students throughout. Tutors should be fully engaged in each session without exception.
* Be familiar with and actively use the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement).
* Maintain and develop the highest professional standards within Food Preparation.
* Prepare food to the highest standards in line with hotel menus.
Skills and Qualifications
* Level 4 certificate in Education, or equivalent or higher.
* City and Guilds Hospitality and Catering Level 2, or equivalent.
* Experience of working in a hospitality catering setting.
* Experience in vocational education (desirable).
* Experience working in a team setting.
* Allergens knowledge (desirable).
* Experience working with young vulnerable adults or children (desirable).
