1. £20.66 per hour
2. Carrickfergus
3. Monday to Friday
4. 37 hrs per week
5. Temporary - Fixed term for or 6 months (possibility of extension)
What you'll be doing in this role:
6. Responsible for day to day operational delivery of services to include refuse collection, commercial waste collection, kerb-side recycling collection, street cleansing, bulky collection, deliveries, public conveniences and other cleaning.
7. Schedule the ongoing workload of the Service, allocate work, monitor and report on progress maximising service efficiencies.
8. Implement service requirements with an emphasis on the delivery of quality services within prescribed budgetary constraints.
9. Continually review and implement all statutory and legislative requirements in accordance with good governance and safety requirements.
10. Contribute to development of the technical functions of the Waste Service, including Fleet Management, Waste Collection, recycling and disposal and liaise with other officers in this regard.
11. Work closely with Transport Management to ensure all vehicles and plant are regularly serviced and defect notes are reported.
What you'll need for this role:
12. Applicants must be qualified to a minimum of degree level in a relevant discipline such as Management Practice or Environmental Service.
13. 2 yearsexperience in the Management of an Operational Service delivering successful outcomes (4 years if you do not have the academic requirement)
14. Operation supervision in a waste environment
15. An understanding of the main issues and developments impacting on service delivery within the service portfolio
16. An understanding of the workings of local government and the wider environment and political context in which it operates.
17. A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post
