Overview
We are looking for a proactive and passionate Team Manager to join our dedicated team supporting adults with a range of needs including learning disabilities, autism and/or complex needs. The role involves managing one of our Learning Disability / Autism supported living services located in Enfield. The service is designed to support the skills building needed to increase the independence of people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
You will ensure that the service provides high quality care and support, while also managing elements of service delivery such as reviewing support planning, key working, rota oversight, and staff guidance. You will work closely with the Deputy or Team Manager and play an active role in ensuring our services are person-centred, well-managed, and aligned with Outward's core values of engage, enable, and empower. As a Team Manager, you will empower the people we support to live independent and fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities
* You will assess new referrals and develop and manage comprehensive transition, move-in, support & risk plans
* Build and maintain strong relationships with families and involved professionals and stakeholders
* Develop, coach and mentor a positive and resilient team of support workers and deputies to deliver high quality and personalised support and embed a culture of positive behaviour support
* Ensure support is delivered innovatively, flexibly and on a person-centred basis to meet the needs and outcomes of the people supported
* Deliver the service within budget and within expected performance indicators including delivering on outcomes for the people supported
* Ensure the service is safe, effective, caring, well led, responsive and managed to meet CQC essential standards to a minimum of good service with aim of outstanding
Essential Criteria
* Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management in a care/support setting
* Knowledge of health and safety issues within supported housing or care environments
* Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection principles
* Significant management experience in a similar setting
* Minimum of 3 years' experience delivering person-centred support to people with a learning disability/autism and complex needs including behaviours of concern
* Minimum of 1 year of experience managing a service for people with learning disability/autism/complex needs
* Excellent communication with key stakeholders including multi-disciplinary and health professionals, family carers and people we support
* Experience of staff management and ability to lead, motivate and develop a large team; visible in the service and able to model best practice
* Staff must have access to a smartphone capable of receiving SMS messages and installing authentication apps for secure systems access
* Right to Work in the UK. Outward does not provide visa sponsorship
Desirable Criteria
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
* Additional training in PBS, safeguarding, or housing-related legislation
* Ability to think creatively and adapt approaches; experience implementing emergency management guidance to support staff
* Experience carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans
* Ability to deliver a creative and flexible service that makes a positive difference to people's lives, in accordance with individual support plans, service specification and CQC requirements
* Commitment to providing high quality, personalised active support
* Leading by example; uphold the rights of people we support to be involved in decision making
* Share our values to engage, enable and empower people with autism or a learning disability
* Knowledge of budget management
