Trainee Estimator – Fabrication

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a well-established fabrication business in their search for a Trainee Estimator to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing who’s looking to take their career in a new direction, moving from hands-on work into a more analytical, office-based role while still using their technical expertise every day.
The Role
As a Trainee Estimator, you’ll work closely with experienced estimators, engineers, and production teams to learn how projects are costed, planned, and delivered. You’ll receive full training, mentorship, and development to progress into a fully qualified Estimator role.
Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications

Preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for fabrication projects
*
Liaising with production, engineering, and supplier teams to ensure project feasibility
*
Assisting in material selection, labour hour calculations, and pricing
*
Supporting continuous improvement in estimating and workflow processes
