Availability Window: Tue 08:00:00–20:00:00; Thu 08:00:00–20:00:00; Fri 08:00:00–20:00:00; Sat 08:00:00–20:00:00. The company will schedule contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. Flexible working options are available if your advertised times do not match exactly.
Pay and hours
Pharmacy Technician rate of pay starts from £14.21 per hour; this increases to £15.48 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. It is Tesco policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; options to work 12–16 hours are also available.
Responsibilities
* Support the management of one of our new modern Pharmacies.
* Accurately dispense medication for customers, applying technical skills and maintaining a strong customer focus.
* Dispense prescription medicines with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Provide information to customers in a confident, friendly and professional manner to deliver excellent service.
* Offer information on common ailments, symptoms and products; understand customer needs and advise on appropriate products and services.
* Explain the benefits of products and only recommend those that are right for the customer.
* Promote available Pharmacy services and support the dispensing process in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
* Assess the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions and respond to clinical or legal queries from Healthcare practitioners within area of competence.
* Address customer queries related to prescription medicines and communicate any complaints to the Pharmacist.
* Ensure dispensary routines and procedures are followed; maintain clean and uncluttered dispensary and consulting rooms; manage prescription administration accurately and on time.
* Contribute to promotional activities and company initiatives within the team.
* Support the Pharmacy Manager and Duty Pharmacy Manager in supervising and developing other team members through coaching and feedback.
* Maintain a personal development record with the GPhC and complete required training; stay up to date with legal and professional developments.
* Maintain annual registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Qualifications
* A pharmacy technician/ accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification.
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
* Proof of completion of a recognised training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/Pharmacy Technician.
* Proof of completing annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.
