Your Role
As an Operations Assistant based in Aberdeen, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service. Your responsibilities will include:
* Handling inbound customer service inquiries and emails promptly and professionally
* Placing customer orders accurately and checking product availability
* Maximizing sales opportunities through up-selling and follow-ups
* Proactively managing backorders to ensure product availability
* Processing stock returns and ensuring customers are informed of terms and conditions
* Taking ownership of customer issues and logging them accurately
* Managing customer complaints and escalating issues to the branch manager
* Exceeding performance criteria in attendance, order accuracy, and service quality
* Maintaining customer database information efficiently
* Participating in initiatives to enhance customer service
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week:
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Friday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
1-3 Saturdays: 08:00 AM - 12:00 PM (once fully trained)
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, we’d love for you to have:
* Heating and Plumbing Knowledge (preferred)
* Previous customer service experience (internal or external)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with various departments
* Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask
* Attention to detail and a commitment to customer service excellence
* Proficiency in using automated systems (e.g., Windows-based computer systems)
