The purpose of this role is to provide Haematology service of the highest quality, ensuring that standards are maintained and developed through continuous improvement, clinical audit, evidence-based research, job planning and appraisal and to work flexibly with colleagues to achieve the hospitals business and clinical strategy.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will work as part of a team of seven Consultants to provide clinical and laboratory Haematology services to the Trust.
The appointee will be expected to have a broad knowledge of Clinical Haematology, and there may be opportunities to develop a special interest complementary to the other Consultant Haematologists.
The post holder should be experienced in laboratory and clinical Haematology. The ability to work in a team is very important. Enthusiasm and the ability to motivate others are essential.
Applicants must hold both the M/FRCP and the FRCPath.
