Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced, qualified Psychological Therapist to become part of the integrated mental health and justice pathway working within the 3 local prisons across Norfolk. It is a lead therapist post; established experience in leading and managing a team as well as excellent clinical skills is essential. Evidence of valid prison vetting clearance is required. You will be welcomed into the prison IAPT services which is a small, highly experienced and supportive team with enthusiasm to make a difference. Therapeutic modalities offered within the service include CBT, CAT, counselling and EMDR. The post holder will have excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in working within the busy prison environment. You will be providing leadership as well as both clinical and management supervision to trained Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, trainees, Psychological Therapist/Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners within the service, ensuring adherence to national guidance including NICE. The post covers HMP Norwich, HMP Bure and HMP Wayland and successful applicant will need to be able to travel independently between sites.


Responsibilities

* Provide leadership and supervision to clinicians within the service (Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, trainees, Psychological Therapist/Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners).
* Lead and manage clinical work with prisoners in a mental health setting, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to NICE guidance.
* Deliver and support therapeutic interventions offered within the service (CBT, CAT, counselling, EMDR) as appropriate.
* Ensure effective collaboration across the integrated mental health and justice pathway and travel between sites as required (HMP Norwich, HMP Bure, HMP Wayland).
* Provide both clinical and management supervision to qualified and trainee staff within the service.
* Demonstrate cultural competency and adaptability to a busy prison environment.


Qualifications

* Qualified Psychological Therapist (or equivalent) with registered professional status.
* Evidence of valid prison vetting clearance.


Locations

HMP Norwich, HMP Bure and HMP Wayland; travel between sites is required.
