We are currently recruiting for an Experienced MHA Administrator to join our team at Sedgley Lodge & House, which offers a range of secure mental health services for men and women in a purpose-built therapeutic environment.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm – site-based).
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mental Health Act Administrator.
About the Services: Cygnet Sedgley House (20 beds) provides a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry, registered nurses, and support workers, supporting individuals in early stages of rehabilitation. Cygnet Sedgley Lodge (14 beds) offers increased independence with a community-based programme and a full MDT including a Consultant Psychiatrist. Additionally, Sedgley's stepdown services include Woodcross and Turls Hill.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
* Scrutinising section papers and ensuring paperwork compliance
* Updating databases and spreadsheets with expiry dates and hearing listings
* Notifying parties about report deadlines and hearings
* Chasing reports for Tribunal and Managers Hearings
* Coordinating with Hospital Managers for hearing attendance
* Assisting the Tribunal Clerk as needed, including setting up rooms and liaising with panels
* Data input of Section dates into Cygnet Databases
* Conducting Mental Health Act Audits
* Adapting protocols for tribunals and hearings in response to COVID-19
* Taking minutes during meetings when required
* Liaising with external agencies and multidisciplinary teams
Candidate Requirements:
* At least 2 years of experience as a Mental Health Act Administrator
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
* GCSE level education or equivalent, with qualifications in English and Maths
* Exceptional organisational skills
* Experience working in healthcare alongside medical practitioners
* Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA 2007)
* Understanding of compliance and auditing systems (CQC)
* Experience in minute-taking during meetings
