Overview:
An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovation-led SME that designs and manufactures high-quality scientific equipment. This hands-on role supports low-volume, electro-mechanical batch production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. Ideal for a practical, solutions-focused engineer with experience in small-batch or complex assembly environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Optimise manufacturing processes to improve cost, quality, and efficiency.
2. Support daily production-resolve build and quality issues swiftly.
3. Lead process development and testing for new product introductions (NPI).
4. Maintain documentation, tools, and calibration of production equipment.
5. Ensure ISO 9001 and QMS compliance; support COSHH and electrical safety.
6. Investigate and resolve non-conformances with root cause analysis.
7. Mentor junior engineers and production teams on process and quality standards.
8. Drive continuous improvement and contribute to design-for-manufacture efforts.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
9. Degree-qualified in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
10. 3+ years' experience in low-volume, electro-mechanical manufacturing.
11. Background in scientific, medical, or regulated products preferred.
12. Familiar with CE marking; US regulatory knowledge is a plus.
13. Strong communicator with proven cross-functional collaboration skills.
14. Practical, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
15. Experience mentoring or leading small teams or engineers.
