Senior Planning Enforcement Officer Rate: £45–£50 per hour Contract: 6-Month Rolling Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in office/site We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join a dynamic local authority team on a flexible, long-term contract basis. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £45–£50 and a hybrid working arrangement, requiring just one day per week on-site or in the office, with the remainder worked remotely. Key Responsibilities: Managing a diverse and complex enforcement caseload Investigating breaches of planning control and progressing cases through to resolution Preparing reports, notices, and evidence for appeals and legal proceedings Providing expert advice on enforcement matters to internal stakeholders Handling sensitive cases, including Gypsy and Traveller site enforcement Requirements: Proven experience in planning enforcement within a local authority setting Strong knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures Experience dealing with Gypsy and Traveller site cases is highly desirable Ability to manage a mixed caseload independently Excellent communication and negotiation skills What’s on Offer: Flexible working with minimal office presence Long-term opportunity via a 6-month rolling contract Competitive hourly rate Varied and interesting caseload If you’re a proactive and experienced enforcement professional looking for your next contract role with flexibility and impact, we’d love to hear from you.
