Overview
The Careers Adviser will travel across Kent, Medway, West Kent and Mid Kent regions to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, assemblies and drop‑in sessions as required. Each student and learning environment will be unique, offering a chance to work with diverse backgrounds and all abilities. You will liaise regularly with Careers Leaders and senior staff to arrange and deliver activities during the school day. While most delivery occurs between 8:30 am and 4 pm, travel before and after these times will be required, as will occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings. Five days a week, term time only, with a pro‑rated holiday entitlement.
Responsibilities
* Travel to schools and colleges across Kent and Medway to deliver Personal Careers Guidance sessions
* Plan and run assemblies, drop‑in sessions and one‑to‑one support for students
* Coordinate with Careers Leaders and senior staff to arrange activities during the school timetable
* Attend parents’ and options evenings and other occasional events, balancing time off in lieu where appropriate
* Maintain accurate record‑keeping and project administration, including travel notes and student progress
* Prepare and deliver tailored guidance to students with and without additional needs and disabilities
* Support the wider Careers team with strategy, training and professional development initiatives
Qualifications
* Level 6 (or above) Careers Guidance Qualification
* Full, clean UK driver’s licence with access to a personal vehicle
* Experience delivering CEIAG in schools and colleges, face‑to‑face with young people
* Willingness to deliver activities during school timetables and to attend occasional evening events (compensated via time off in lieu)
* Knowledge of Post 16 and Post 18 education and training routes for young people with and without additional needs and disabilities
* Strong organisational skills – managing travel, schedule, emails and routine administrative tasks
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role
