We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Engineer to take ownership of maintenance operations and guide a small technical team. This role combines hands-on engineering with mentoring, offering the opportunity to make a real impact by driving improvements and developing a proactive maintenance culture.

The Role
Lead and support a team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians.
Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Develop and implement PPM schedules to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and encourage a development mindset.
Liaise with external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Mentor junior team members, helping to build the right culture within the team.
Deputise for the Systems Manager when required.
Use CMMS systems and IT tools to plan, track, and report on maintenance activities.
About You
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
Multi-skilled background in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching engineers.
Strong fault-finding and repair skills – e.g. motors, bearings, sensors, belts, circuit breakers, drives.
Background in automation and industrial/factory maintenance.
Confident using IT systems for reporting and analysis.
Able to safely work at height and manage contractors effectively.
Must pass a DBS check and provide proof of qualifications
