This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business at the forefront of sustainable recycling — ensuring that quality, safety, and compliance remain at the heart of operations.

The Role:

As a Quality Inspector, you’ll be responsible for monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing materials within a high-volume metal recycling environment. From checking merchant deliveries to overseeing vessel loading, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all materials meet the company’s strict quality and safety standards.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to get involved in day-to-day yard operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and assess the quality of incoming merchant deliveries (up to 25 tonnes worth of material).
Identify and remove non-conforming materials such as wood, concrete, tyres, and dirt.
Visually inspect loads — working with crane operators to review and assess loads.

Oversee quality of materials loaded onto vessels, liaising with customer inspectors and the commercial team.
Monitor and report any battery-containing items to prevent fire risks.
Report all non-conformances via the internal WhatsApp group and maintain accurate visual records (photos).
Collaborate closely with the yard team to improve the quality of ferrous scrap.
Requirements:

Strong attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach.
Experience working in metal recycling.
Confident in identifying contamination and quality issues.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with operations teams.
