We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paralegal or Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our expanding Dispute Resolution team, based in Warwick Town Centre. Working in a busy, fast-paced environment, this new position offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely alongside the lawyers in the team.
About the Team:
The team, led by the tenacious Sioban Calcott, acts on behalf of businesses and individuals on a wide range of general commercial and civil disputes including business and contractual litigation, complex private client disputes, boundary disputes, residential and commercial property disputes, contentious probate matters, contentious and non-contentious employment matters and professional negligence claims to name but a few! The Role:
This role will see the successful candidate undertaking general paralegal and administrative support to the team as required to include the following tasks:
* Supporting the team with their case load to include drafting documents and correspondence, work on disclosure, preparing and reviewing documents, witness statement preparation, drafting instructions to counsel and experts as instructed by senior team members;
* Analysing, collating and summarising large quantities of information;
* Assisting the team with preparation of trial bundles;
* Attending meetings with clients, conferences with counsel and court appearances, (sitting behind counsel);
* Taking detailed and accurate notes;
* Liaising with clients and their other professional advisors to keep all parties up to date;
* Participating in business development and attending networking events to promote the firm.
The Candidate:
We are looking for a new team member who:
* Ideally has previous experience working as a Paralegal in a Dispute Resolution team;
* Has a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules;
* Has excellent communication skills (both oral and written);
* Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility;
* Law degree or equivalent;
* Has experience of Practical Law and Lexis Nexis or similar, and is confident in preparing draft documents and carrying out legal research;
* Is IT literate, and has experience using a case management system P4W;
* Is highly motivated with great attention to detail, and strong communication skills;
* Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The salary for this role will be dependent on experience and qualification.
Full time preferred but could be flexible for the right person. Competitive salary.
