Job Description
Hunter Selection has been chosen to support a well-established design and manufacturer in Hampshire. The Design Team Leader will work collaboratively with the Product Specialist and Director of Engineering to support the implementation of an engineering strategy that includes future product development.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Produce electro-mechanical 3D models and technical drawings for all products.
2. Produce 2D engineering drawings and BOMS from 3D Models.
3. Generate and maintain all design-related documentation required for UKCA/CE approval.
4. Arrange and lead design concept and scope meetings.
5. Support the management of the change control process.
6. Lead in identifying and suggesting improvements to existing product designs.
7. Mentor team members to support and develop their skills.
8. Lead a team of 3 engineers.
Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
* Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Demonstrable team leader experience across a multidisciplinary team.
* Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks 3D package is essential.
* Technical mindset with practical workshop skills.
* Knowledge of pressure vessels, design codes, and CE approval documentation is helpful.
* Good knowledge of machining operations, materials, finishing processes, and fabrication.
* Understanding of tolerances for application requirements.
