General Accountabilities
You will be required to work on a variety of projects across stress analysis, fracture assessment and finite element analysis of the existing fleet of AGR and PWR nuclear power stations and the development of a new fleet of EPR nuclear power stations.
We are involved in multiple different projects, and we’ll need you researching, constructing and designing a process or system that will help our clients build, operate and maintain their assets more efficiently.
Your main areas of responsibility will involve:
• Design code assessments, pressure vessels and pipework
• Engineering design
• Pipework analysis
• Finite element analysis
• Defect tolerance assessments
• High temperature assessments
• Onsite support (flow accelerated corrosion and pipework support surveys)
• Impact, blast, missile and pipe whip assessments
• Seismic and dynamic analysis.
What You Need to Succeed
You will hold or be predicted a good honours degree with a minimum 2.1 BEng or MEng in a relevant engineering or science discipline. PhD and Masters would be an asset but are not essential.
Work experience that has enabled you to build confidence, strengthen your communication skills and demonstrate your work ethic. Previous experience in a consultancy environment would be an advantage.
Confidence to work on your own initiative or as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions.
A flexible approach to travel as our projects and training may take you to a variety of locations in the UK and possibly abroad.
