Clinical Skills Facilitator at Cheswold Park Hospital

Overview
The post holder will coordinate, lead, design and deliver clinical skills programmes for the registered workforce to meet agreed service priorities and regulatory requirements. Travel across trust sites and potential evening/weekend work to provide learning opportunities for all staff.
Responsibilities
* Co-ordinate, lead, develop and deliver clinical learning and development programmes for registered staff, meeting organisational objectives.
* Deliver training aligned to the Physical Health Strategy to improve essential physical health care skills in mental health settings (e.g., vital signs monitoring, neurological observations, ECG, venepuncture, post falls, post seizure care, long term condition management, and embedding clinical record keeping).
* Support staff through induction, including the Care Certificate; support the Resuscitation Team to build confidence in emergency response skills.
* Maintain and report on learning and development plans, timetables and activity against these plans; provide regular written and verbal progress reports to Head of Learning and Development and service-line managers.
* Assist in the development and implementation of service strategies with education, training, learning and development implications.
* Contribute to training records and data using ESR for workflow planning and monitoring.
Working Arrangements
* Full-time, 37.5 hours per week; travel across trust sites. Evening and weekend work may be required.
* Based in the Learning and Development team, Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield.
Person Specification
Experience Essential: substantial post registration experience in Health or Social Care; experience mentoring/supporting learners; experience designing, delivering and evaluating training; experience working with diverse multidisciplinary groups. Desirable: experience delivering clinical skills.
Physical Attributes Essential: ability to undertake the duties with a satisfactory sickness record over the past 2 years. Desirable: additional physical capacity details as required.
Personal Attributes Essential: confident trainer with strong communication; able to facilitate groups; good IT skills; able to manage workload and meet deadlines; willing to work unsociable hours; full driving licence and access to a car (adjustments possible for disability). Desirable: project management capabilities.
Special Knowledge/Skills Essential: understanding of Training Cycle; knowledge of national drivers of Mental Health services and NHS L&D; ability to use evaluation methodologies; evidence of continuing professional development. Desirable: Leadership and Management skills.
Training Essential: ongoing professional development; experience of developing clinical training for varied learner groups. Desirable: quality improvement/change management.
Qualifications Essential: current registration with NMC/HCPC; mentorship/assessor qualification; degree or equivalent; relevant qualification in Education and Training (Level 3+ or equivalent experience).
