An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, appropriately experienced and qualified nurse to join the Colorectal/Oncology Nurse Team based in Forth Valley Royal Hospital for the role of Stoma care Nurse Specialist.
You will be a Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration, educated to/working towards/operating at degree Level. Experience within colorectal speciality / area of practice would be adventitious. You will ensure a person-centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain the quality strategy.
Evidence of further study or experiential learning within surgery or oncology would be beneficial. The applicant will have an understanding of the core clinical competencies for specialist nursing as defined by all four pillars of practice.
The applicant will possess excellent communication skills and be able to facilitate discussions with patients and their families. Furthermore, will be able to demonstrate a level of decision making and have an understanding of managing a caseload working independently and as a member of a team. There is a requirement to participate in ongoing teaching and audit programmes.
This is an exciting time to join our Team as we continue to develop nursing roles within the Colorectal Oncology service. We currently operate a Monday Friday service from 0900-1700.
Essential requirements
1. Registered Nurse
2. Experience as a nurse within surgical or oncological specialties.
3. Some evidence of post registration education or experiential learning.
4. Educated to postgraduate diploma
5. A keen willingness to develop skills
